Wondering if there should be any fabric or anything inside the box? I've seen a few things that it gives more extension? Not sure what that does really. Any input?

well... since you have provided us with so much detail... I say fill it with sand, or water, or metal shavings, whichever...

That fabric you speak of is termed 'polyfill.'

I think you are talking about polyfil? I believe it makes the box seem bigger than it is to the sub, but idk anyone who uses it.

Seen that done on the show "Unique Whips" before. But to the OP we need more details on the box you are using.

MikeyB, I believe polyfil was the stuff I saw. I was trying to find info on it. I'll take a look for more details. Thanks for the name.

Polyfill is used to 'trick' the woofer into thinking it is in a larger enclosure.
