insolation doesn't really mean anything to tell you the truth....oxygen free copper is all that will matter (in practice)......insolation is ment to fight interference, just about any insolation will fight moderate interference that you might get it you run the interconnects near other small gauge (low current) wires. In reallity you should run the rca's down the middle so you have no problems with interfernce. The problem most people run into is running their interconnects next to their 8,4,or 0guage power line thats carring anywhere from 20 - 200 amps. Insolation is not going to do anything to prevent interference from wires such as these, keep the interconnects at least 18inches from any high current (relativly speaking) wires. You can save yourself money by installing correctly. Note that if you were to be competing in sq comps where computerized sound imagening is being used, there will be a difference in interconnect quality. To sum up, go for it, if you have a problem, run them somewhere else, then upgrade them if the problem doesn't go away.
