Should I?

Get a 12" Alpine Type R? I see them at ikesound for 105$ new. !

Or should I keep this MXS 1204?

I really want a new sub, the MTX pounds but I'm not even using full potential of the amp. As of now 300wrms. I can send the Type R 500rms.

Would it be that much of a difference? I will put it in a 2.0cuft box tuned to 38hz. Ported.

Or should I just keep for a new amp? I'm trying to decide between 2 12" Alpine Type R's with a BX1500 Hifonics. Or a 12" SS-RL-p with my bazooka amp which will send it 500wrms.

I figure I can start building my new system by buying the new alpine, then going from there, but I really don't know the best choice.

I may be getting a RE SE so lets throw out the type R.
Are the RL-p and the SE in the same ballfield at all?
the SE will be louder I believe and the RL- should have better SQ. So not really...

I have no experience with either though just regurgatating some shit I read on here.

i wouldn't say the se will be louder. it's install dependant and rl-p's do get very loud. it seems like everybody just wants to say an rl-p is an sq sub, but it actually has very good spl along with the sq.

I agree, it truly depends on the box mainly imo.
