Should i use splitters??? Need alot of help!

So I just picked up an Alpine MRV-F250 to use with my front stage. It's a four channel amp, so it's going to be bridged, and channel 1+2 have there own pair of RCA inputs and channel 3+4 have there own pair of inputs as well. My active EQ (Kicker KQ30) has only 1 pair of RCA outputs. So should I use splitters from the EQ to my four channel amp?

Next I have my sub amp (AQ1200D) which only has 1 pair of RCA inputs, no outputs. My four channel amp has 1 pair of outputs, so should I connect my sub amp though that? Someone told me that doing that could cause a slight lag in my amplifier. Any truth? And will wiring it this way cause my 4 channel amp to get more input voltage than my sub amp, or will they see equal signal?

I'm currently running stinger hyper series RCA's from my deck(2 volt). Since my EQ can reproduce up to 9v output, should I buy better quality RCA's for the receiving end of my EQ, or will more set of Stinger Hyper RCA's work fine? (I just like having matching RCA's lol).

Sorry for the long read, but any help is greatly appreciated!

you wont have any lag, lol what an idiot that guy is. You're doing it right. You could even run a line driver straight to the aq amp if you are worried about voltage loss. Sucks that eq doesnt have enough outputs.

I don't have an EQ, but I am running my fronts with a bridged 4 ch. I'm using y-cables. Some amps only require one input per pair of bridged channels, your manual should give you that info. If you don't know just use the y's.

Next I have my sub amp (AQ1200D) which only has 1 pair of RCA inputs, no outputs. My four channel amp has 1 pair of outputs, so should I connect my sub amp though that? Someone told me that doing that could cause a slight lag in my amplifier. Any truth?
Never heard of such a thing, and there is nothing electrically that would support that theory. It's not like the signal is going to hang out at the 4 ch for a while before deciding to go to the sub amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

My question is will the eq'd signal coming into the 4 ch effect the output signal going to the sub amp? The outputs on the 4 ch are most likely just going to send the sub amp whatever is coming in so if you're filtering bass at the EQ you won't want to use the same signal into the sub amp.

If that's the case you'd want to use splitters in front of the eq to get an unfiltered signal to the sub amp.

And will wiring it this way cause my 4 channel amp to get more input voltage than my sub amp, or will they see equal signal?
They'll be equal.

RCA y-cables are a parallel circuit and if you look at series/parallel circuit basics you'll see that parallel circuits divide current, not voltage. And since amp inputs are very high impedance that current can be divided several times before the load on the HU becomes a concern.

Hypers are good quality cables - I wouldn't sweat it.

Thanks you very much! I'm not going to be filtering the bass out of my front stage with the EQ, I'm going to use the amps onboard crossovers for that. This should be ok correct? My EQ is a 30-band EQ, so I don't want to waste all that low end control it has.

Also, my EQ has a switch so I can send a mono signal from the output on my EQ. The input on my four channel amp has a separate input for each channel, so idk if I can get by without splitters or not.

Will any old splitters work? I think i have some cheapos from walmart or radio shack lying around.
