Should I use polyfill or not?

I will soon be getting an Alpine Type R SWR-12D4 12" sub, and a R/T 300 vented enclosure.

I have ready many opinions on using polyfil or not.

The amp is a Rockford Fosgate Prime 750 monoblock, will be running at 2 ohms, 500 w/rms.

I will be getting these in a couple of days. Amp is already installed on an old sub, JL 12W1 (don't like it very much)

I wouldn't. If the box is ported it's not going to help you. It'll likely reduce output a bit as what it actually does is flatten out your impedance curve, but that's part of why ported boxes are louder in the first place.. I wouldnt' worry about it.

Don't buy the prefab enclosure. Make it correctly, and you won't need polyfill. Just my 2 cents

I use polyfil in sealed boxes... not sure how it would work ported.
