should I use polyfil??

I jus got some speaker adpters tht turn a 6x9 speaker hole to a 6.5 hole and I'm wondering what should I put in there to fil up the hole a lil better. I have some cotton type stuff in my subwoofer box I was wondering if that was polyfil if so I could use some of tht.

Please explain... do you mean you still have holes from where the 6X9's were in the mounting surface? Where are these speakers located... doors? Rear deck?

U kno like after I put the adapter on then put the speaker in there will be speace under the adapter where a 6x9 would be filling up but there is open space bcuz its only a 6.5 in there. I don't know if you understand.

As long as the baffle is sealed it will be fine. If there are open holes on the ends where the 6X9 once filled the hole, where air can leak from the rear of the cone to the front, it will hurt your bass/midbass.

I don't know what kind of adapters would leave holes... we would usually make our own when I worked at a shop... we would cut a 6X9 oval out of 1/4" wood and then make a hole in the middle for the new round driver... no visible holes left around the speaker after install.

If you could post a link/pic of the adapter or the install, that would clear things up.
