I am having some serious trouble deciding what to do with my setup. To start, my electrical will consist of a northstar sms 480 and a kinetic in the front and a 300a HO alternator in my 2012 mazda 3 hatch along with 2 runs of 0 gauge to the back.
I had an X 15 and then got 2 zv4 v2 12s from a buddy and i am about to build a nice setup. They are dual 2 ohm though which is what makes it challenging cause i don't want to run half ohm daily for a couple years. I feel as if something would mess up (turning the volume too high and then blowing something from clipping) or something else inadvertent that you of course don't mean to do, but costs you 500+ bucks to fix a "whoopsie". I want these to last 2 years maybe even 4-5 cause they are very expensive and i don't see myself running half of what some people run to theirs.
I have ran a hifonics brx3016.1 at around 2k rms at 2 ohms (i know its not rated but its 100-200w in the ballpark) for about 11 months daily without the high output alternator and just a standard ever start upfront and kinetic in the back. (all the electrical is being upgraded now that i am going bigger of course and I'm doing it right). And i haven't had one single shut off or any problem whatsoever. I can get 2 for 300 a piece online and run 2k to each sub on 2 ohms each amp. Or i can get a nice 4k or 5k amp and run it on half ohm (going with crescendo or sundown or b2 if i go large like this but it costs double the money). So that is my question is which would you recommend doing for longevity purposes of both the amp and electrical strain.
Thank you for the help!
