I have a set of MB quart reference series seperates (German ones) that I have had in my truck for several years.
They work great and overall I am happy with them.
I power them with my ancient RF 160.4 that I bought new in 97.
Honestly I cant remember if I am running them bridged or not but it seems the Quarts need more power especially as I turn them up.
The seperates are rated for 130rms and although Fosgates amps are usually underrated I dont think I am getting near that.
Should I get a new or recently used amp that has about 120 per side? I am on a budget and prob would go with used. Should I look at Alpine, Cadence, ED or Soundstream?
I also have an old school A/D/S Power Plate 120 that I could get repaired.
Looking for opinions on what is good clean power.
This amp powers just the Quarts and nothing else.
The rest of my setup consists of:
Alpine CDA-9887 head unit
2 RE SE dvc 12s
Sundown SAE-1200D
Let me know what you guys think.
