I have a DD9512, I am in the process of switching amps, and until my new one comes in is it okay to run say a 2600watt MAX @ 1 to my 9512 D4? I know that this amp probably only puts out like 300RMS @ 2ohms, but there is no real specs on the amp. Another thing, the inputs are 4 gauge, can I run my 0/1 to my distribution block and just run one lead to the power and that be okay if I just ground one 4 gauge also? I have never had this issue so I am pretty new to this part.

What make/model is your amp? I have a feeling it's not gonna be good if it says 2600 watts and has 4 gauge terminals though, lol....

Ssl f2600d... And yeah I know that was my amp before I stepped it up lol, like I said 2600max @ 1 ohm.
i wouldnt do that. what you need to look at is your rms on your amp. that is what power your amp will do clean and non clipping power. you can kill your sub with clipping....

4 gauge from the d block and for a ground is fine. Keep your ground under 3 feet, and use a ring terminal on your wire. ground to a spot that's been sanded to bare metal, and is not a piece of sheet metal that's been tack welded to another piece of metal. If you can ground to your frame, that would be best. But the floor of your trunk would work in most cars. It's probably making more than 300 at 2 ohms, but you're right to upgrade.

edit: 4 ohms: 750 watts x 1 chan. 2 ohms: 1200 watts x 1 chan. It's actually not possible for it to make these numbers based on it's fuse rating (25x2), but It probably makes at least 500 at 2 ohms.

I'm still not too sure about my ability to do the big 3. Really scared.
don't be skeered. It's VERY easy, lol. It's way easier than tearing your interior out and running wire through nooks and crannies that make my hands hate me.
