Hey Guys..

im from australia and im driving a daily 2006 Honda Integra (Acura RSX in america)

i currently have a HU - alpine CDE-102E

components JL c2-600's

and thinking about replacing my kenwood kfc-w1204db sub

Peak power: 1000w

Rms: 250w

Impedance:4ohms

Mag:1500g

which is quite old.. its my first sub so i dont have anything to go on..

im running it bridged off a 4 chan amp that was given to me (the sub included) the amp is only 4x50w RMS so please dont shoot me

my main reason for change would be to get better quality sound from the sub

im definatly going to replace the AMP to a MONO soundstream of some sort ( any ideas which??)

but do you guys think i should replace the sub ... boot space is a factor so i guess a single sealed 12inch

thanks a bunch guys!!

since you are going sealed try looking into a audioque sd 12" 600rms. they are overrated my wife had one ran on 1200rms. they are for daily pretty much they have good sq. they can also have pretty decent spl for a street sub.

Well depends a little. You mentioned replacing your 4channel with a different amp and mentioned running the sub bridged off that amp. Are your components amped? are you going to be using the 4channel on the speakers and then get a mono block for the sub? If so you'd be getting a new sub stage all together so, I would get an idea of what you would like to spend for a sub and amp and also what you're going for. I know you are into good sound quality, but is loudness a factor or not a factor?

Cliffs:

Come up with a budget and what your goal is for sound.(keep in consideration wiring costs, and box building costs)

Choose a subwoofer based off that.

Choose an amp that will give proper power for the sub.

hey guys.. thanks for the replies..

i have a for channel just for the sub and a 2 channel for the components, my ultimate goal right now would be replace the 4chan to a mono i guess..

i think my budget is around 300-400

not incl box

I guess I'd sell the 4 channel and boost your budget up 50$ or so. With that budget I would definately get a new amp and 1 sub. Heres some options:

I would recommend this Dayton Audio RSS315HO-44 12" Reference HO DVC Subwoofer

and this to power it: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_23874_MB-Quart-ONX1.1000D.html?utm_source=froogle&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=froogle

Powered in parallel at 2ohms getting 750wrms in a 1cu ft enclosure this will blow you away and should say under your budget.

This will be very high sound quality in a small enclosure.
