I have a 12" Havoc on the way. I have a RF P1000bd right now. I don't have the birthsheet but I know they are generally rated anywhere from 1,100-1,300 watts. I'm considering upgrading to a RF T1500bdcp. The sub is 1,250 RMS but I've seen people run an AQ2200 on one sub with no problem. My question is, should I stick with the amp I have, or should I upgrade to the T1500? And if I do upgrade, do you guys think I'll need to upgrade my electrical? I plan to do the Big 3 regardless and I just bought a new battery but just a standard battery, nothing special. Its going in a Denali and I heard the stock alternator is pretty strong and the battery is supposedly pretty strong too. Would a capacitor help? Are the cap cells any good from power acoustic? It's a daily driver and will probably rarely be played without the engine running, if at all. How much wattage do you guys recommend getting a HO alternator and/or battery? Because I plan to add a T400-4 and mids but that don't be till much later. Thank you.

id run that amp on that sub,and try it out for a while..i will recommend doing the big three without question/big 5 as i have done if you have another spot on the other side for a second battery,(add)rather than a cap.gm alts are standard off the line maybe a 110/and the biggest over the counter is a 140.but it takes power to make power, ive added a 200 amp alt to my gm vehicle.run a batt rather than a cap..its more sufficient

Thanks. Ya, I think I'm just going to stick with my amp for now and see how it goes. If I need more power, I can just upgrade later. What kind of car do you have? Do you suggest I get a higher output battery along with the Big 3, or just do the Big 3?

We had a Tahoe. And yes standard alt for them is 110 also if you have dimming now which I think you do then you'll need a bigger alt. also the 1500 watt amp would be great on the havoc. I know it will take closer to 2k daily easy mylows10 has an alt for your Denali for sale too looks like a drop in app too

i have a 98 xcab 3dr chevy truck/w 200amp alt(down grade from a 255) 2-redtops with big 5(not big 3)and will be adding a kinetick 600 next to sub amps. if you want to try to maintain as close to 14.4v that that amp requires to achieve the rms out of it,and perform at its best,id say do the ho alt(min of 200amp)and get the big three done, and add an extra batt for the system to get the most rms output of that amp.new amps are rated at 14.4v,of approx 95% of todays amplifiers..with the vehicle running,a/c on/lights/stereo,you may be at 13.6v running stock electrical..beef it up,and get the most out of what ever you install:)

I don't have any dimming yet but my system isn't installed either. I guess I will see after its installed if dimming is an issue and look into an alternator and/or battery then. How much do you went for the alt? Do you have it listed on the forum? Is the voltage meter on the on the odometer accurate? It generally reads 14v or higher. I just put a new battery in but just a standard battery.
