should I switch to a dd 9512g

I currently have 2 1508's in a t line box on a exile audio 2500.1 obviously have headroom seeing as how the subs will only take 1800 total. The T line enclosure gives a relatively flat response from 30hz-80hz and for being a pair of 8" subs def. have balls.

So my question is Will have have a lot more output and or sq switching to the single 9512g with the full 2500 watts in a proper designed box like another t line or folded horn like the 1508s are in will I have a dramatic output difference.

Doing some quick math it seems I should have approximately 12% more cone area and 45% more suspension not to mention the 38% more power. I just figured I would throw this out there to see if any one else has made this change.

I was also looking at the BTL or a 3512 but don't know if they would really rack up to the big dog a 9512 is for sq and spl ability with this amount of power.

I am just bored with the 1508's and figure I can use the same or less box room maybe giving me a little more room (would be nice) but not a big deal if I don't just know that 2 12's are out of the picture do to wanting some room and it being in a 93 civic hatch back.

Yes....the 9512 will have more output...a good bit more....as far as more SQ .........pretty much apples to oranges ....and the 9512 will love that amp @ 1ohm

if you had to guess saying both are in a equally built box how much of a output gain should I have (db's) and do you think the box will have to be larger or smaller than my 1508 box Peter W. Kulicki WorkBlog - Dual DD 1508 T-Box I will have Pete design my next box as I love the output and design though I will build the box myself this time. I just didn't have time before to do so and thought I would see what kind of changes he would make do to him building the enclosure last time.
