Should I swap subs?

I currently have two Kicker 07CVR12 subs in a pre fab sealed enclosure running 400 RMS per sub @ 2 ohms (unknown how many cuft.). I have the opportunity to trade my 2 12's with the enclosure for one 07S12L7. I have a box for the solo baric, it is pre fad ported but made by Kicker for these subs (also unknown cuft.) It would also be getting 800 RMS @ 2 ohms.

Should I swap up or leave it as is, I have never heard an L7 but have heard two L5's.

Still need opinions and I found the cuft. of the ported Kicker box, it is 2.1 cuft. Any input from you guys would be great.

swap it up and go with the l7

build a new box for the 2 cvr's and give them adequate power. should be a little louder due to more cone area.

I have a 12" L5 in the Kicker pre-fab ported box and I am happy with the output it provides. If you are looking to take up less space, you may be happy with the single L7.

If space is not an issue, build a ported box for the two 12s that you have now and you should get more output than you would from a single ported L7.

As stated above go ported for the two cvr's if space isn't an issue and enjoy the difference.

What about 2 L7 12's in a bandpass...? It's this exact same box except it has square cutouts. My buddy had 2 L7s in these a couple years back but I don't remember how it sounded. Thoughts?

I would stray away from prefab bandpass boxes...

normally we are going to say pass on the bandpass ideas.. just do a simple ported box and enjoy

stay with what you have, your not going to get any louder from cutting your cone are in half.

WHat you have is a pretty decent setup just need the right box.In my girlfriends car I have the same subs in a ported box running off of a rockford 800.2,and it sounds pretty good.

Old post I know but if you could get 2 of the l7's go for it. I have 2 l5 12's in a ported box I built and I am slamming on ppl around here with 2 15" cvr's.
