i have an 200 amp alternator from one of the big name suppliers,

2 big starting batterys up front on my truck, along with one large audio battery in the back, full 1/0 connecting wire,

running an audioque 2200d, and a kicker 650,

not even running at full tilt i am still getting dimming occasionally ..

is this normal ?

Two starting batteries?

If I were you, I'd have two deep cycle batteries for the audio, but I don't know.

Something doesn't seem right.

How are the Batteries grounds connected, is the rear battery grounded in the rear to the body or frame or back to the battery under the hood

What type batteries ?

What size or model # ?

yes on the big 3 ,

not the greatest ground on the back battery, but very good frame and engine grounds on the front 2 batterys,

I would suggest checking the voltage output from the alternator. Is it fairly constant? or all over the place. The voltage regulator on the alt might be faulty.

Secondly, your big 3 is it in 0 or 4ga, and did you do ALL of the big 3. I know lots of folks that say fawk it when it comes to doing frame to engine block.

Also does it dim driving? Or are we talking about idling. With a 200amp alt thiers no way it should dim cruisin down the road.

Most HO alts don't put out much more than stock at idle, did you get a amaller pulley ( would up the alt speed) or are you using stock pulley?

a gground run run from batts in front to back or alt case to back may be beneficial

Check the ground off of the rear battery.

it is the stock pully,

it should be putting out over 100 at idle IIRC

and it still does it driving down the road also ,

ill redo the ground on the rear and see if it helps,

if not get another long run to go off the front bat
