should i solder the wire to the voice coil?

I am just finishing my box up and i was wondering if I should solder the speaker wire to the voice coil, and to the spaker terminal?

I wouldn't suggest soldering the wire directly to the voice coil, no. There is good reason why speakers/subs have input terminals on them for wire attachment....

actually take an extension cord, cut off the end used for plugging shit in. now take that end and solder it to the voice coil and then plug it into a wall socket. need to break it in

i just tried doing that, but there were 3 different wires in my extension cord, i didn't know where to put the 3rd one so i just gave up.

dam my type RR didnt seem to like the extension cord wall socket break in method....maybe my new 06 10" XXX will!!
