tuning amp?

i have 2 12" type r's each with their own mrd-m605 amp and i was wonderin wut to set the controls at (gain, subsonic filter, variable cross-over). the gain on the mrd-m605 is different cause it is digital and adjusts from 0.5 volts to 8 volts. i hope i made sense is sayin all this, if u dont get somethin just tell me and i'll try to explain it again.

Read the gain setting tutorial to set the gains. Just adjust the setting digitally until you get the desired voltage. What type of box are they in? VC config?

they r in seperate sealed enclosures, i built my own box. they r dvc but i have them wired like its one. also the amp only adjusts the gain in like .1 volt increments and thats it, its nothin like the tutorial posted, just from .5-8 volts. it is at .5 volts right now cause i havent adjusted it yet, by making it higer would it make the subs louder?

lets start over, i have the subs wired to a 2 ohm load in a sealed enclosure. on the amp there is a crossover freq adjustment knob, LP slope switch, subsonic mode selector, the gain, and bass EQ. wut should i have these at

I am guessing you have each sub wired to 2 ohm. Check out http://www.rockfordfosgate.com and go to the woofer wiring wizard under the support tab to make sure they are wired correctly. Don;t worry about the subsonic filter because they are in sealed boxes. Take a DMM and without the subs connected put the pins on the speaker terminals and adjust the gain until you get a readout of 34.64 V. Put the cover on the amps and you will be good to go.

so all i need to do is disconnect the subs at the amp and put the ends of the dmm in the amp and adjust the gain until i get a read out of 34.64volts? do i need to adjust the volume, i know i need to turn off the bass eq, treble, etc.
