Should I remove the OEM deadener?

Plan on making a false floor but I have about 1" of padding thats deadener under the storage bin in the rear hatch. The false floor is going to replace the storage bin. Should I just have the box sit on top of the padding and compress it or remove it and just throw some Audio Technix down?

When I did my hatch I there was a padding in mine. I removed it, put down my deadener, did my CCF, and then put the factory deadener over that before I put anything back together. Although this is a little different, mine was on the hatch door rather than the floor.

I would rip that junk out and put in some after market deadner. I have looked at alot of the OEM stuff and never been really impressed. You will get better results with deadner actually made for car audio

If you can even consider that deadner....yeah rip that ish out. I was helping my buddy do some deadening in his truck and he was like is this the factory version of that stuff? pointing at the deadner I suggested to and bought for him. He didn't think twice about ripping that junk out and I concerred.
