Should I order the RE8's now and torture myself for 2 months?

2 re8's will have a good amount of bump. I installed 2 in my girls car and they sound great. Great output for little 8's.

In fact, 8's ARE the only subs I can fit comfortably behind my seat. At most I can get about .60 cubic feet per sub, which would be in the lower range of most 10's. With the 8's, I can can put them in a larger recommended box and get better low freq. extension.
I get tired of seeing people on here claiming to have single cab trucks with massive amounts of space behind the seat. One guy on here has 12 inches between the back of his seat and the rear of the cab.

That's a big *** single cab.

I fit two memphis power reference 10"s in a ported box behind a single cab s10. so anything is possible.

well theres only one 8 that i would buy and thats becuz i installed this personally........its the round solobaraic 8....i had 2 of them in a bandpass box tuned at 35hz with a old school fosgate 500m....the output was no joke....people heard me from a good 2blocks loud and clear

Well, you guys are a little more ambitious than me, to say the least. All I'm looking for at this stage in my car audio fascination is something that sounds good and beats hard enough to impress my friends and myself. The RE8's will certainly do that for me.

While you were in your back yard, you could hear deeper, you say? Thats because higher frequency noises tend to be directional. Like tweeters, if you have a tweeter pointed right at you, you'll hear it a ton louder than if you have it pointed 90 degrees to the right. Just like a sub, the higher frequency noises from your sub, your sub is probably faced towards the windshield, right? The higher frequency noises from your sub are more audible when the sub is pointed at you.
