Should i, or shouldnt i.....

are the 3.8l engines and transmissions for these GN's easy to find and cheap like GM's other vehicles are.
Yea im thinking a bigger turbo, bigger injectors, bigger intercooler cold air nice exhaust
LQ8'S are pretty rare, but 200r4 engines are a dime a dozen. if u do decide to get it, check out http://www.taperformance.com and http://www.postonbuick.com as well as the http://www.turbobuick.com forum.

edit: in case u dont know, 87 was the only year they came intercooled from teh factory...just a cool fact //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Ok fellas im going to check out the buick t-type this weekend. Got a question because ive never done this before. Now im getting a loan from the bank hopefully, so when i decide i want the car how will they go about giving me the money to pay the guy and whats the process of switching the title over into my name
check out the trunk and make sure its solid, also the frame PARTICULARLY behind the rear tires, rocker panels and rear quarter panels as those are where the gm G bodies like to rust //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

yea i jus PM'd him, does anybody know the compression ration on the t-type engine, im going to test the compression on the engine when i see it in person to make sure it has sufficient compression. The guy says it gets to 60 in about a block
iirc it has 7.5 CR seeing as how its turbocharged and everything...could be wrong tho

Im pretty sure it was 8:1, not positive.

Check the wiring, check the FP, rear end if it whines.. Look EVERYWHERE. Run the vin before you buy it !!! Very possible a stolen car, esp. nowadays with the musclecar craze.

Make sure the turbo spools BY 2200rpm, that the TC flashes to 2200rpm. Uhm..gauges work, trunk is fine. Shit I don't know what else atm.

Im selling my car if you want //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Serious too.

he says the car is an Oregen vehicle and the only rust is on the door at the bottom. he said the body is straight and everything but i will chk everything you guys suggested thanks.

If you had a GN, then you would never have said that. Your BS'ing, just like you said your car was bagged. Lieing on the internetz FTMFL!

Not true. My friend has an 87' GN that he swapped a NASCAR built Chevy 350 into then turbocharged it. Buick motors are weak and don't have the proper bracing for extreme horsepower applications. Believe it of not, a Buick destined 3.8L is not the same as a Chevy destined 3.8L.

You are right. Which is why people can run 9's on the stock block, and 10's with the stock bottom end.

The LC2 was designed for 190hp, fyi. Design doesn't dicatate action.

Yes, 8.0:1, same as my 3.8 in my 87 D Royale, although slightly different engines (mine being FWD). If I'm correct the 3.8's (LM9 and LG3 3.8's) they didn't have balance shafts as the Series I and II engines did, so a little bit shakey at idle. Other then that they are reliable engines. 116K on my 3.8 and driven daily without a problem other then the intake gasket and TPS out of whack.
