Should I listen: Arc Audio System vs eD System

Ok, well I am looking to get a system going for my RX-8 and I was pretty much set on getting either two 10Kv2's or two 10Ov2's, a Nine.1 amp to power them, and then a eDi6500 with a Nine.2 amp to power it. That system with the Kv2's comes to around $973.25 shipped, if I went with the Ov2's, I'd be pushing $1075.25 shipped for the complete system. Add about $150-$200 more for dynamat (or should I get eDead v1SE?) about $50-$60 for amp kits, and then another $70-$80 for wood to create custom install, I'm looking at around $1500 total for everything and then I'd have to install it myself, which I would want to, but I really have not worked on this car before and it seems complicated and I don't want to damage anything.

So I talked to a local shop, and he's heard of eD and he was saying that this is what he would do. For $2000 he would get me all Arc Audio stuff. He would give me two ARC10's, KAR 900.1D amp for the subs, ACS 265 components, and then either the KAR 200.2 or the KAR 400.2--most likely the KAR 200.2 though--then completely dynamat the doors and trunk, build a custom box with front panel, and then an amp rack, all custom, with an alarm installed for $2000.

Now I have NEVER heard anything about the Arc Audio line. I want an SQL system, and I know that with the eD system I will get that because I've ordered from eD before and have heard a lot about the newer products. I want tight SQ, but want the capability of doing some street pounding when I want to, so not knowing anything about these Arc Audio subs, I am a little worried about the SPL part.

What do you guys think I should do? Buy the all eD system (some things are on back order, so I don't know how much delay this would be) and try and install myself, or buy the all arc system and just be done with it in a couple of days.

ARC is high end stuff. It would probably sound better than the eDmo setup. Not shure if it would be louder.

I personally would go with some Second Skin damplifier. Its a much better product than V1SE ( falls off). You can get the B stock stuff for fairly cheap.

Keep in mind also that the KAR line of amps is Arc's lower line of amps. The XXK line is the kick *** line, much better amps. For as much as the guy wants for the install I would ask for the XXK line. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

If he says he can't get those then get them yourself and have him put them in.

If I can fit one, do you think a single 12 "supersub" 12W7, Brahma, IDMax, etc, outdo two "lower end" subs such as the 10" Type-R's 11Kv2's, etc etc. If I can fit a 12 in and am able to port it, I will do it, but I think I only have around 1.84ft^3 max for my box. That's without any sub displacment or anything like that. (29x11x10)/1728 right? It's been a while since I've gone to make a box so I forget the formula, but when I do that I get 1.85ft^3

He's trying to hook me up with an Eclipse system, the 12" Titanium and an Eclipse amp.

But do you think two 10" Type-R's will outdo it in SPL? Also will two 10" Type-R's outdo the Kv2's in SPL/SQ?

I'm really starting to look at the Type-R's right now

hard hitter, i would much rather go with the arc audio stuff than the ed, like these people have said the arc stuff is VERY high end , ive own some of those arc audio 265 and they are the smoothest speakers ive heard , out of all that stuff the acs speakers is the most high end thing hes giving you. I just MIGHT sell these if you really want them, send me an IM , youre welcome to listen to them too.

12" Brahma lll ported tuned to 30hz in 1.5 cubes

RE 12.1 amp

id cham components

when the new RE amps comes out, get it for you components

As far as subs are concerned, you have alot of good possible choices you are pondering and YOU and YOU alone are going to have to weigh the advantages and disadvantages of all those as not all of them are good in every area.

Speakers, I would go with the arcs or the type Rs. They will give you a good balance of SQ and loudness.

Amps.....don't even mess around with the Eclipse or the RE, go with ARC amps all the way. But like I mentioned in an earlier post if you can get the XXK series I would definitely go that route but the KAR series are nothing to sneeze at either.

My 2 cents. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Rofl? Arc is "high end"...

Who isnt high end...

Also, you cant expect one company to be the best in everything, arc isnt the best in any...

Doing a whole system around 1 company is just crazy... ED makes great amps, but crappy subs, and mids... arc... ok subs, crappy amps, ok mids...

Your call though.... Have fun blowing 2 grand...

Hmmm....I've never heard anything but great reviews and opinions on Arc amplifiers. It is true that no one mfg makes everything good but if there is one thing Arc does well its make amps. But I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

what are you talkin about??? arc is I would rate as one of the best./ no comparison to eD

eD is NOT high end. Audiobahn is NOT high end. Infinity is NOT high end.

Have you actually tried the subs, amps, mids of Arc or eD?

You are retarded.

I have an eD12o and I love it.

Im not an eDmo fan but the sub has great SQ and has the infamous flat cone.

ARC is known for quality, cant say that for eDmo can you.......
