Ok, well I am looking to get a system going for my RX-8 and I was pretty much set on getting either two 10Kv2's or two 10Ov2's, a Nine.1 amp to power them, and then a eDi6500 with a Nine.2 amp to power it. That system with the Kv2's comes to around $973.25 shipped, if I went with the Ov2's, I'd be pushing $1075.25 shipped for the complete system. Add about $150-$200 more for dynamat (or should I get eDead v1SE?) about $50-$60 for amp kits, and then another $70-$80 for wood to create custom install, I'm looking at around $1500 total for everything and then I'd have to install it myself, which I would want to, but I really have not worked on this car before and it seems complicated and I don't want to damage anything.
So I talked to a local shop, and he's heard of eD and he was saying that this is what he would do. For $2000 he would get me all Arc Audio stuff. He would give me two ARC10's, KAR 900.1D amp for the subs, ACS 265 components, and then either the KAR 200.2 or the KAR 400.2--most likely the KAR 200.2 though--then completely dynamat the doors and trunk, build a custom box with front panel, and then an amp rack, all custom, with an alarm installed for $2000.
Now I have NEVER heard anything about the Arc Audio line. I want an SQL system, and I know that with the eD system I will get that because I've ordered from eD before and have heard a lot about the newer products. I want tight SQ, but want the capability of doing some street pounding when I want to, so not knowing anything about these Arc Audio subs, I am a little worried about the SPL part.
What do you guys think I should do? Buy the all eD system (some things are on back order, so I don't know how much delay this would be) and try and install myself, or buy the all arc system and just be done with it in a couple of days.
