Should I keep my RE XXX 's or trade for DD 9500

Once I bag it I'll see just how much voltage the compressors take and I'll go from there.

I heard DD's are nothing but competition suds and will not sound good as daily with music.

What's your opinion?

I'd rather own a XXX than a 9500.
9500's are nice & all.. but XXX's are legendary & are an all around better driver, IMO.

but this is also suited for my ears, not yours. to each his own.

Id chose a 9500 for an SPL setup, or a XXX (05 or older) for a daily listener system. For a daily system I only want/need max volume sometimes, but I want it to sound as good as possible 100% of the time.

I don't put up the greatest numbers on the TL, but it gets plenty loud and still has nice detailed bass at the same time. If the urge hits me, I could build an SPL set-up and tune higher and pick up a few db's, but at the moment, I'm good with what I have.

My 9915's are the equivalent to the current 9515's w/ composite cone option.

If I were you and considering your wants, I'd keep the xxx's and see what more power sounds like on them.

i say the 2 9512s will deffinalty get louder then the xxx's and you can make them sound **** near the same in sq, ya do gotta look at what either would be tuned to also....
