Should I keep my RE XXX 's or trade for DD 9500

Hey guys,

Right now I'm running 2 10 inch RE XXX's with a hifonics cyclops @ 2 ohms which puts out 2,900 watts, My subs pound don't get me wrong, but I was wondering if the DD 9500's would sound louder.

Also this is my daily driver and also want SQ.

So the question is. 2 10 inch RE XXX's with 2,900 watts, or 2 10 inch DD 9500's with 4,000 watts.

What amp would you run on the 9500s? I have no experience with either personally, but i believe the XXX would enjoy 2000 a piece also.. Why not try adding the power to the RE before you go out and redo everything?

With the same hifonics cyclops, since my RE XXX are dual 2 they are at 2 ohms and if I get the DD 9500's I'll get them dual 4's and drop my hifonics amp @ 1 ohm and get the 4,000 watts out of it

well from personal experince i changed out my 05 XXX 12 d2 sub and dropped in a DD 9512g d2 in the same box this week and used the same amp and there was a huge increase in output. there was a slight decrease in sq but not much..

if your looking to get loud get the DD's!!

DD and SQ are not ussually in the same sentence, will it be louder, maybe but no way will you have near the SQ of the XXX.

I would not do it based on what you want out of your system. If you were tryign to gain a db for comps maybe, but not to retain SQ with 4k, no way.

do you have the power to do 4k? thats alot of draw.

Sell your amp or trade for one that does 4k at 2 ohms. The XXX are bad *** lil woofers.

The voltage drops is my main concern. I did the big 3 and have 1 optima red top under the hood and 1 optima yellow top in the trunk with a stock alternator.

I'm also bagging the car next week and I'm putting 2 380 compressors and two 5 gallon tanks.

When those compressors are running there go my volts.

Should I run another battery?

You might need to get a new alternator.

If you want sq I would stick with the xxx's. Maybe try feeding them more power if you want them louder.

I'd rather own a XXX than a 9500.

9500's are nice & all.. but XXX's are legendary & are an all around better driver, IMO.

but this is also suited for my ears, not yours. to each his own.

x2 what size alternator do you have and how many batterys?
