Should I go back to the JL? Advice please

No such thing as too old bud. Mine is 2 years younger and still drives fine. Had a '92 s10 blazer that ran ok too.
Just buy another JL sub and be done with it. Sounds like that's all you wanna do.

My 98 x-cab runs like a spotted azzed ape.i have taken care of it mechanicly and could use a good painting, runs great.I trust it enough to drive it to Canada and back for a solid week.I drive it daily for months on end .5.7lt

Id look at a Polk 10 also if you are not wanting to buy JL again.Pretty good subs for the money.If worried about majority of durability/lasting, the Polk Marine 10 might be your best bet.Ive ran Marine speakers in vehicles as well, nothing wrong with that at all.May be cheaper or may be a few dollars more,these days i havent really looked into it

I think I remember why I liked it for what it was. You really can't find a bad review on this little 10 inch

I always had a soft spot for w0s because they were my first subs I ever owned and for the amount of power you put on them, you get a lot of punchy sound out. They might not play as deep as other subs but when you are looking for punch, who cares about 35hz and under.

lol. You have absolutely no clue how much car audio people own/have worth a lot more than the vehicles their in. It's a hobby....anything a "hobby" can get expensive.

Go buy your JL 10 and be done with it.
