Should I get into Pro Audio?

I need to replace my front stage speakers. Iv'e running a set of ID CXS comps on a PPI p900.4 for about 7 months until the 6.5 in the right door blew out (pushed them pretty hard with the PPI amp bridged). They were kinda loud but i was never too impressed with them. They sounded really good on some songs at lower levels but never really shined when playing loud... I have deadned doors too but i was just never really too impressed with these speakers and being that they are on the higher end of the price range i have a hard time getting another comp set around that price.

Since I have the PPi 900.4 (which has the capablilty to run active crossover) and a clarion cz702 HU (which also has the capability to run as an active crossover) should I look into getting pro audio stuff? Like 2 6.5 mids, and 2 tweeters? Basicacly what i want out of my front stage is loud and clear. Im not too concerned with sound imaging and getting super into sound quality and all that. I just want them to sound good and clear and get loud.

So should i just get another comp set or should i go for pro audio? My budget is $400

Just get pro audio. I also wasnt impressed with my xs65 comp set. I expected alot more for the price
For real I felt so let down by those lol. They looked so nice and well built. So should i just get 2 6.5 mid ranges for the doors and two tweeters? and advice on what kind of tweets i should get? Pro Audio is relatively new to me. Im looking at these for midrange... just some stuff that fit into my budget, is good brands, and 6.5... Idk whats good haha..

WoofersEtc.com - CL-6.2 - CDT Audio 6.5" 2-Ohm Mid-range Speakers

WoofersEtc.com - PAIR OF NEOPRO 65 V2 4 - Sundown Audio 6.5" 180W 4-Ohm Midrange Speaker

By the way, the mids will just be going in my stock door panel speaker openings and the tweets up on the dash in the stock location

well the sq tweeters my not fit.
what size tweeters do you have???
Well right now the tweets from the id cxs are still in there. I drive an 06 xterra and the stock tweet location is pretty big. Ill can pop the grill cover thing off to measure but its decent size forsure

No pro auto tweeter will fit in a stock tweeter location super tweeters are like 3" big! Check out parts express you can find some nice drivers there. OR go with the SQ or crescendo pro audio stuff

the id's sound good, but they are geared SQ not loud, I have 2 sets of soundqubed pro audio mids and supertweeters and 2 more sets on the way, haven't heard them yet but I have a set of soundstream pro audios that can get loud, louder then the comp. and handle more power, the soundqubed were less money then the soundstreams but they also had horns in the mid. check out the SP2.654 I can vouch for them that they are loud and clear, I actually had to turn my gains down on the rear because they were louder then the fronts, I have them on the PRO2.xvr pro audio xovers.

Wait so the 6.5s are only $56 for a set?? I have $400 budget hahaha i mean im not saying i need to spend that much but coudnt i get something a little better for around $150 then spend $50 or so on the tweets?
I run 4 of the mids and 2 supertweets also and was suprised for the price ..they are super loud and clear but like any pro audio speaker they can sound awful ifnot setup correctly ...i run mine on a ppi bk800.4..and the tweets are massive i dont see them fitting into any stock tweeter location

I liked my Crescendo pwx 6.5's.Get loud and stay clear.Running some Prv 6.5's now.Get loud and clear as well on a Kicker kx850.4 There are ALOT of choices nowadays..I believe alot has to do with hu and amp choice too.Pro tweets are a bit screechy for my taste.May have to experiment some to get the sound you want.I went through alot of diff tweets before ending up with the ones in my sig.Good luck
