mines been great 20K miles and nothing bad so far.

things to look for are bad water pumps/ timing belts. (but thats with all cars too)

and MAF sensors

then theres windows falling off the tracks ( vw will should fix for free)

theres a break light switch recall (vw will fix for free)

there is the weird crayon smell that comes from the air vents.. a lot of people claim to smell

on the 1.8t (turbo) engines the coil packs seem to crack and go bad easy,

if you want a very solid engine the 2.0 is a good way to go. as long as you dont care about racing people. because its Not a super fast car. its just great on gas.

Nice car! If you do get it, look at swapping in the 2.0T or the VR6! I am a converted Euro car lover as well. My new car is going to be an Audi A6 2.8T Quattro with Sportronic ******. GL with your decision!

I personally think that VW Golf looks pretty good. Still dont look like 20's, but they could be. If you dont care about ride quailty, or speed that much, then get it. Is a sharp looking ride. If you want speed and ride quailty, then spend a few more g's and hook up a GTi! I love the one I test drove, but was a couple thousand more than I wanted to go.

Those rims don't look bad. But you can find a better deal if you like Audi's and vw's and live on the internet like me. Its not necc. new as that car, but I think it looks better imho. I picked up a 98' A4 silver on black leather. Automatic with steptronic drive. Cd player, loaded. 74k. Got it for payoff which is 3500.00 whooo
