Ditch the cage and get yoself a tricked out busa so you can be a true wheelie poppin stunta on the roads like me.

BTW, i'd have to learn to drive stick real quick //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
learning to drive stick is pretty easy if you have a good teacher... some people just **** at explaining things (like when I was learning)

oh and not much of a fan of the golfs... but i really really like the jetta vr6s, I would take one in a heart beat.

p.s. this thread is gonna make bassaddictj sad

Correct me if I'm wrong Azbass, but I believe those 20s would make for a horrrible ride on that VW. Nevermind the looks.
I too fell in love with a new VW this week. The 08 Passat with the 3.6 L, 280 hp V6 engine

i have been debating buying a vw as of late, but i think today i nailed down my answer to "no"

from everything i have heard their reliability is shaky, at best, and their service departments tend to be pretty ill mannered. when i confronted the sales guy at the dealership about some of the stuff i have been researching, he at first tried to deny it, and later admitted that they have had several problems in the past, and have been trying to fix the problems. the sales manager was also a huge *******, which ended up being the reason i stood up and walked out of the dealership while he was in mid sentence...

if they want to call me back and come off their price a bit, i might consider still buying it, but otherwise, not worth the high price tag for the german engineering which i cant feel comfortable trusting.

how are you guys getting such cheap prices on the golf's?
at the dealership near me, they were all near the 20k range, with the fahrenheit editions upwards of 30k
the MK4 Golf (the one in the pictures) is no more as the new Rabbit took its place. the new Gti's/Jettas are mk5 platforms along with the Rabbit. and are more money.

all the info i found was just by doing google searches.

and while i will say that from what i have read, the quality has gotten better, it is still very low compared to industry standards. and out of all auto manufacturers in the US, volkswagen has the highest amount of lemon claims in 2006

however, they still do have some issues, although they are hit or miss, but when they have issues, they seem to be fairly major, and vw does nothing about the situation and it looks like often times they try to ignore the issue.

albeit, this may be a small percentage of their vehicles, this is the information that i found doing my research.

and //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif - i have also found it hard to find honest opinions regaurding vw's on the internet... this is in no way a reference to anyone here, or anyone specific for that matter, but when i did find negative reviews of vw's from people who had legitimate problems with their vehicles, there was ALWAYS a volkswagen fan boy replying to their review with such brilliant responses as "youre an idiot! you dont know how to own a car!". and yes, that was an actual reply, to someone who had several legitimate gripes about their new passat that went through 3 engines within 6 months or ownership, all with the same failure.
