I agree, but...Fusing for the power cabling should always be in accordance to the ampacity of the cable itself and not the equipment it is feeding power to.
The fusing on your amp(s) is completely incidental and shouldn't be used as a guide for this.
If the power wire can carry a lot more current than the amps will ever demand, there's no reason not to fuse at the lower value.
For example, a 1000w sub amp with 1/0 wire.
The amp may have a max current draw of 100A, but the wire can carry 250A+.
IMO it would be wise to fuse around 100A just to increase the safety factor.

An amp may be CAPABLE of, let's say, 100A. That doesn't mean an 80A fuse wouldn't provide more than enough current, plus (again) increase the protection factor if there's ever an overload situation.
Come to think of it, before I put in my 100A ANL fuse I was using an 80A agu in an 1100w+ system. That fuse never blew, even playing LOUD test tones.
