Ok i just got my 12" type r....and i want to use it if i can......but i only have the amp that i got before i knew anything about car audio a Legacy LA790 "1200" watt amp it does "1200x1 bridged and 600x2"

Now do you guys think i should go ahead and use this amp until i can get money for a directed 1100d.........

How many true watts do you think it would run to the sub if i bridged it?

Oh and will it hurt to try this amp any on this sub?

2 ohm dvc type r........and amp specs are

2 channel amp

1200x1 bridged

600x2

2 ohm stable

bridgeable to 4 ohms

need anything else?

ok idont understand that stuff up there is wat the box says but the manual says

rms at 4ohm 2x75

rms at 2ohms 2x110

max outut 2x600

bridge mode 1x1200

and i was just lookin at the manual again it says when bridgin the amp that the minimum speaker impedance is 4ohm so can i still bridge this 2ohm sub if u guys tell me if i should use this amp for awhile or not....

well since it's dvc 2 ohm, it would have to be run at either 1 or 4 ohms....and that am bridges at 1200x1@4, so i say it might be a little much....and that amp wont run 1ohm(most likely)...

So i say no, but thats just me...
