srsly
I was deadening my rear deck and was curious if i should put a big sheet of deadener over this or if I should leave it bare.

Here is an image to give you an idea of where it is in the rear deck. Right inbetween the 6X9's

you could deaden it, but what i would really do is deaden the other side of the panel where you just deadened. basically so that plastic does not make any contact in that bucket area. pretty sure when that shit flaps around you going to have some nasty slapping noises.

you mean like rip off the top of my rear deck, deaden under it, and put it back on?

sounds like i might F something up trying to pull that off... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Thanks for the help guys. for now i'm just gonna go slap a big square on/over it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

what car is that?? looks perfect for an easy IB setup off the rear deck...

Also, did you use a roller when you deadened? doesn't look like it.

you don't really have to remove it but it would help a TON to reduce the noise back there if you did remove the whole rear panel and deaden all of it. most rear panel noise is caused the the plastic hitting the metal.

since it's a big access hole just push up on it some and manage to stick a little deadener in between the 2 parts and press with your fingers, then just overlap the remainder onto the underside of the rear panel.

that's what i would do. you don't have to though it's your car not mine. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

lol shoot. I put a big sheet over it and now i come back and read about pushing it up and putting down some deadener. Hopefully the sheet I put across it will hold it down. it seems to be on there pretty solid.

Once everything is installed if it rattles i spose i'll just rip off that piece and give it a shot.

Thanks for your help guys.
