so i failed and need help

I thought I knew what was up. I went behind my deck found the yellow 12volt power which was said to be the 12V+ Switched wire then when I went to ground the wire the isolaotr started to vibrate and put off fumes. Wouldn't the blue remote turn on act the same as a 12V+ Switched. Or is it wroth the 55 dollars to take it to the pro install shop near by and hope they do it in around an hour.

The Power wire and the 12 volt switched are different.

And the remote power is what you want to hook your HU up to not to the 12 volt switched.

The headunit should also have the 12+ switched wire

well I didn't actually do that. I also didn't use the 12v red power wire. I used the yellow one that said 12v memory? but the 12volt.com had it labeled as the wire I needed.

What are you trying to do exactly? First you said shit was smoking, now you said you didnt really do that. Red, blue, yellow, i really am lost man. Help me out here haha.

Haha sorry I didn't get alot of sleep because my buddy left for basic training and I had to work in the morning. Now I'm just aggravated. So I tapped into the yellow wire that was physically labeled 12volt memory. However on the 12volt.com It was labeled as the 12 volt switched. So I assumed nothing Had power and when I went to ground the isolator it started to give off fumes and vibrate. I said I didn't really do that because you guys were thinking I plugged the remote on or the red 12 volt that always has power.

Well i would go buy what your wires are labled, than off of a website to start with. What headunit are you using if you really are talking about a headunit.

would my best bet be check with a voltmeter to make sure the isolator is good, then look for a wire labeled as 12volt switched then retry everything

Are you trying to hook it up or what are you doing? You said your trying to tap into the wire?
