Nope, havent heard one.....Thought NGSM was selling/sold his?Any good reason that I shouldnt, given that you have heard one?
Oh it sounds pretty freaking good, I'm not sure what he's doing with the 18... he goes back and forth sometimes... Given some new circumstances he'll probably be selling it to get something new, something different...

If you asked him to show it to you he probably would... if you came down... or he was up here already...

Seems wierd that they would do this considering the costs. It's gotta be cheaper for them to just trade you out.......doesn't matter...
As for going up to the 18? Nevermind space and power, cause the needs are not that dramatic. What are you looking to gain? If you expect a huge increase in volume, it won't be there. Theory says, double cone space = 3 dB. 15 to 18= inaudible volume change.

good luck

Really? The change in output would be inaudible??? That just doesnt sound right....

really. Theory is pretty right on in most scenarios.... Enclosure types and vehicles and other variables don't hold true. But if we're using the same amp, box style, car, etc............. You're output with an 18 will be very, very minimal. If you want to increase your volume (which is what it sounds like you want) just save a few nickels and buy another 15.

Shit. I thought reconing it to an 18" would get me increased loudness, without the stuff that goes along with adding a second 15"- another amp, electrical upgrades, etc.......

I'd say go for it, a friend of mine got a DD9515 rebuilt into an 18" through RE, it wangs, and everytime he pops his trunk for a newb they are just mesmerized by the sub, it is quite power hungry though, don't want to say that all 18" subs are that way but his takes quite a bit of power to get moving, at 1400 RMS he's only seeing half the potential the sub possesses...

what type of enclosure you got it in?

what type of enclosure you got it in?

Just a standard ported box, 4.5 tuned to 32......

I want to get louder, but this is like the 5th setup in the past year, and the wife will be really pissed if I want to spend hundreds more.......I was going to use one of the snail shell designs thats floating around for the 18"....

Currently, an Adire REVO 1500......rated at 1500, not sure if its over/underrated...thinking it may be underrated a bit, no hard numbers to back that up, but I had it hooked up at 4 ohms briefly (rated 500 watts) and there was no noticeable difference between it and a Viper 2500 at 4 ohms (rated at 1500)...for what its worth, anyway, thought Id throw that in.

Okay,

Here's what I'd do. Now I'm not real familiar with your Adire amp, so if I'm wrong let me know and I'll do a little more research.

Okay, The XXX are dual 2 ohm right? Wire em up in series giving you 2 four ohm woofers. Parallel those together to the mono (right?) Adire REVO.

Same power, double cone space = louder.

make sense?

Plus, you'll have two woofers

did you ever make a new box?

Nope......when I got the REVO, it had to be repaired, and since then Ive been working on getting the comps/deadening done, now Ive got to send my deck back because of the infamous ground trace problem on Pioneers.....The new box is next on the list, the one I made was a temp thing, even though it is beautiful //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif ....Im definitely leaning towards having a snail shell made, now that the plans are circulating on the net, (I figure disappointment is easier to swallow at a price tag under the $300 price of p4s snail shells)

Bean, so a pair of 15"s getting 750 each would be louder than one getting 1500? Wouldnt the reduced power play into it?

Before you do anything drastic with that XXX build a new box... trust me on this one...
