RE SE ?s

I am looking at getting an SE for my car but I don't have much room so I want to go sealed. RE says to use a 1 cuft. sealed box. Does this sound right? How does the SE sound in a sealed box? Or is there another sub out there that will perform as good or better with 600 wrms that doesn't cost too much more? I have a JBL 600.1 just to let you guys know.

sealed the 12" SE would be nice in about a 1.2^3 sealed... but it

will really shine in a 2.1^3 ported tuned to 32hz...

for the cost the SE is hard to beat...

So how will the SX sound in a sealed 1.25 with 900W running... I ask because I wanted the SE but could not get a 4ohm load on that sub.

The IA 187 is known to match / out-mic the SE in a sealed enclosure. They are a bit cheaper in price.. Mine enjoy 1 cube sealed.

Yes, I was told that the SE was the sub designed for the sealed enclosure but I wanted to use my existing amp and puts far too much power for an SE. Thus after talking to RE and reading a few posts on this site I felt the SX would sound fine in a 1.25 sealed encloure. As I listen to almost only Rock and Jaz a ported enclosure is probably not the best solution for my needs.

the sx is an SPL sub... the SE is more SQ oriented...

Would going with a 10 make much of a difference from a 12. I don't really care if it isn't as loud but I just want good sound. This is going in a Mustang and I am trying to keep the box under the cargo cover so I have limited space. If I were to build a box smaller than the recommended cuft., could I just put some polyfill in the box?
