Should I bring lube???

Try another HU and try another amp to see if the problem still exist.

Shouldn''t have to pay someone $100+.

No extra HU's or amps laying around. As far as the guy saying don’t be a quitter at this point I have been trying to figure out this single issue for a min of 9 days. Tried everything I know and what others have told me to try and the problem remains. That and the self troubleshooting has already cost me $100 in a blown set of tweets. So at this point it’s my only choice or I can keep spinning my wheels and slowly blow everything I have up..

Wing

Eww that much I know it’s gonna be a bill min.

Naw I only ride with dimes now LOL... Phemps i thought the saturn was a nice car but its slowly falling apart. Motor/***** will last forever (only 83k miles so far) but It drives so I can't complain. Yea I am thinking $200 plus just to get them to track down the issue. No install needed just need to find out why I am getting lil to no signal to the speakers. Prob a simple fix I have overlooked but I am sure they will make me pay hard for such a small issue but I am all out of ideas. Seems we have no members near me or they just dont wanna help for alil cash so now I gotta get plugged by the man..
P.S phemps what u running?
Mines been running great for years and i bought it as an R title. im walled 4 dc level 3 15s on 2 DB drive pd 2000s gain matched putting out 4k before rise etc. 12 cubes net tuned to 35hz. i just got a new job and the extra money is gonna help me start my new wall build 3 18s on 9k:veryhapp:

I find it impossible to believe ca.com cant help you diagnose such a simple problem. I will help you isolate the problem and save that $200.

You dont need a spare h/u, anything with rca outputs will work (boom box or even a home stereo). Plug your existing RCA cable into it. If the problem goes away, its the h/u (either its bad, or you have a setting wrong on it). If the problem stays, continue using the boombox/alternate signal source and use a different RCA cable.

When troubleshooting a problem like this, you isolate each component (including wiring) until the problem goes away. When the problem goes away, which ever component you are bypassing at that time is the culprit.

You, as a DIY'er, should own a DMM (even if its just a $10 cheapie). This would allow you to check the output(s) from the h/u directly, and avoid needing the alternate signal source described above.

I already addressed the issues and gave him the keys to solve this problem. He wants validation, proof that it was inspected by a certified vendor/repair so he can bark at the moon later.

I haven't seen the other thread(s), I guess. All I know is he says he's been trying to figure it out for 9 days. 9 days of doing what I dont know, but we can get him on the right track if he makes that choice.

Been getting help from subzero and issue lies with the HU. I get zero acv from the rca's coming from the HU. I just need to take to shop to have valid proof that a "pro" checked it out and it is blown.. I mean I spent$200 on it and now I am looking at spending even more to get it fixed..

So the forum has helped me (subzero) the most and after going threw a checklist the end result is the HU is not giving out any volts. Atleast now I want have to get amp checked out when I take to shop as I know what the problem is so subzero actually saved me a few more dollars on labor that they will charge

Seems I am not the only one that has had this issue. I can find threads asking how to but no one has an answer. It seems you can turn them up and down but no one knows how.

Someone elses post not mine -

I have a cd7000 that ive had for a while on 3 or 4 previous amps with no problems at all. I have it in a new car right now and everything seemed to be working fine until I got around to installing an amplifier. I’ve narrowed the problem down to the headunit because when I plug an ipod directly into the amp everything performs like it should. But when the headunit is sending the signal to the amp it seems very very weak. For example, the only way to really see the subs begin to visibly move is by turning the gain all the way up (amp is a phoenix gold x600.1 and subs are JBL gto804).

At first I thought that maybe the RCA outputs had gone bad, but after realizing that all three sets of RCA outputs have the same problem I can’t help but think that the problem might be a setting on the headunit that I'm overlooking? The only reason I had doubted that is because I’ve been using the headunit (actively) successfully for so long now so I would have thought that there is no such setting that I am unfamiliar with. I know that a lot of headunits have a subwoofer level control that could be the cause, but I don’t think that the cd7000 has something like that?

Thank god the issue has been resolved.. Danny spent maybe 15mins and next thing I know I got output.. If ur local and ever need help go see Danny very cool guy with cheap prices.. Chraged me zero dollars yet other shops wanted $85.. He will be building me a box for my sa8's subs back aero port threw the deck... So happy
