Should I add another inline fuse?

Well, re-wired my system a little while ago, and i'm wondering if I should add a second fuse to my sub amp. I have about a 3ft run of 0ga from a remote solenoid(same as the battery), to a fused distro with a 150 amp fuse, then about a 8ft run to my amp. I'm thinking I should add another inline fuse about 10'' from the amp, with an 80 amp fuse, just to be safe. The wire is 0ga, to 4 from the distro to the amp

so, good idea, or pointless?

It won't hurt anything, but it won't do anything either. Adding multiple fuses to the same wire doesn't add extra protection, it's just pointless. If the wire is carrying too much current, the fuse will pop, no matter where it's at. The reason people recommend putting it close to the battery is so that if a severe short does occur and large amount of current do pass through the cable it will only be passed a few inches before it is cut out by the fuse blowing, instead of heating up the wire running all the way through your car.

thanks, all i needed to hear. I never would have thought about it, besides for that I have about 6 inline fuse holders, and like 20 fuses sitting around needing to be used.
