i thought i was trippin but i had 2 re install windows 2wice in like 2 weeks an this is really the only site im on besides facebook so i knew something was up
My friend keeps getting this virus and all she does is facebook. I beginning to blame it on FB , cuz i hardly go on there and i'm still clean.

Running Win 7 64 Bit Premium (Bootleg) , Avast Free Edition , And Google Chrome. No Problems Yet. And i'm on ca all the time. Sorry bout all the others getting hit though. What OS are the infected running? Maybe it's a virus written for that specific OS.
Dumbest thing Ive ever heard. Its a Windows virus it will affect any Windows system if the proper security measures arent in place, except for maybe a legacy Windows OS.

lol win xp, no antivirus, im fine, learn your internet packets and you will be fine
This Java virus is through the web which uses port 80 if your using HTTP, if you have forced HTTPS it will be port 443. You wont be able to tell the difference between visiting this website with or without the virus by looking at packets.

then please explain why i have numerous programs that work great with xp and vista but refuse to run on 7? if your logic is correct why is there so many programs out there that are incompatible with 7? under your logic if a virus (which is a program) will infect any windows , then why wont my older programs run on 7??

Because first of all developers are stupid and afraid of change. Second of all almost all programs now are Win 7 compatible unless its legacy software. Even if it is legacy software there is a compatibility mode. Windows is basically the same from each version with slight changes to the kernel and ways it addresses the registry. These changes is what causes the incompatibility and those are easily fixed by not being a lazy developer and writing proper code or compatibility mode.

I suggest you do some serious research on this subject.

Fvck you bro.

ok. if the issue is the way the program addresses the registry , whose to say that the said virus is written to be compatible with 7? i havent heard of or seen anyone get hit with it on 7. everyone i know to encounter it has been running vista or xp. just saying , it is possible that the virus in question isn't compatible with 7. i'm not saying 7 is impervious to infection by any means. just saying i have yet to be hit with one , nor have any of my customers. FYI , i moonlite as a shadetree pc mechanic. not a hacker by any means but i know my way around a pc. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nerd.gif.c6fa51ddf7ff75f1c0371fbc648f70ae.gif

Sorry man. I tell it how it is. Hopefully what ever your company does is part of the pack that isnt lazy and actively develop for the latest OS changes.

Windows 7 is by far the most secure Windows OS to date. DEP, LUA, UAC, and a built in active 2 way firewall. The issue isnt if its compatible or not. Its if it can actually penetrate the built in protections already within Windows. These built in protections have absolutely nothing to do with the browser unless you have DEP set to protect all active processes and a LUA in place to prevent the infection from writing to registry. Ive seen it and Im on Win 7 x64 Pro.

Makes sense.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nerd.gif.c6fa51ddf7ff75f1c0371fbc648f70ae.gif I really have been nuthugging 7 since i started using it. (Xp always crashes once or twice within the first 3 months of use , on any pc i have installed it on , i'm currently 8 months in on a bootleg (7loader) of 7 and havent had the first slowdown or error.

Running it on a asus a8n sli-premium MOBO , FX-60 CPU , 4 gigs of corsair DDR1 , twin 7600GT's in SLI , twin raptors in a 0 Raid config. Yes it's old but it keeps up with most of the mid priced pc's on the shelf today.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nerd.gif.c6fa51ddf7ff75f1c0371fbc648f70ae.gif

I spoke with goob earlier about the virus issue and the recent hacking of a couple users on the forum. He is not sure what is going on with the virus. He is checking to see if there is anything he can do about it. He is also trying to contact VB to see if they know anything about this potential exploit. and he said he'd look into the hacking thing.
