whats the best way to wire my sub for the amp?

i have 1 10" HE2 dual voice coil, w/ the rockford 601s amp.

is this too much amp for just one 10? is it great? how can i get most wattage out of this set-up from my amp?

(need specific details or even MS paint drawing of wires and stuff.)

i can trade the amp i have now for a rockford 1000bd if it would be a better set-up, i just dont really know what would be the better amp for the sub or how i can get most power.

thanks in advance for any help.

Try to remember that you don't have to feed a sub 5 joules of power for it to play loud. It has to do with efficiency of the sub. You want an amp that will give it at least its rms power. Unless you're planning on attending the world finals, more power won't make a big difference. I think that 601s will definetly do the trick. However, if you can attain the other amp for a real good price do it. Its always nice to have reserve power if you want to upgrade your subs later on.

You cannot use that amp bridged to that sub. HE2s are DVC 4 ohm, so it can be run at either 2 or 8 ohms, which wouldn't get optimal performance from that amp.

I say take the trade. You can run the 1000bd at 2 ohms, just MAKE SURE to turn the gain down. That sub only needs 300-400 to really move good.
