Setting up Huge party, want to build audio system for DJ/Music/Band

Alright so I will be holding a 300-500 Person party in the next 2 months and i will be having my friends band playing, my friend playing as a DJ, and just playing music the whole time. I would like to build some kickass speakers/subwoofer enclosures for the outside stage. Ive seen the speakers you can rent that are like 15" in diameter and are in a portable hard plastic enclosure. I really dont want to rent anything. What speakers for the highs, mid, and lows would be able to get really loud when playing outside? It doesnt matter if I were to run alot of smaller mid rang speakers or a couple large mid range speakers(if i can find any). so what and how many speakers should i get?

Im thinking of building fiberglass enclosures for the speakers and subs.

well are you trying to get midbass out of a cardoor or are you setting up an outdoor party?

Unless you're regularly throwing 3-500 person parties, rent the speakers.

Building them isn't going to be practical for one event.

actually more i think about it, if it was me I would build a pair of 3ways with an 8 or a 10, then buy a couple of 15s or 18s and make a big *** box like 10cubes and stick it in the corner, on its own amp of course
