Update: arbitrarily increased acubass knob out 20%. Sounds considerably better. Definitely closer to what it should. Still not full potential.

Question for you, acubass doesn’t increase voltage right? From my understanding it restores bass lost on roll off. I’m going to formally set it, but want to know if increasing acubass can risk blowing speakers.

Unless accubass has changed it will increase voltage and really serves "no purpose" in car audio since cabin gain already "restores" bass roll off. Accubass was originally invented to restore bass roll off on vinyl albums because they rolled off bass on vinyl to prevent the needle from jumping out of the groove. In essence, accubass functions like a fancy low shelf bass knob.
