dont use the ss filter or set it as low as you can and use a 40 or 50hz tone for subs, 1khz for highs

ok well i set it with a 40 hz to 29volts at 1ohms which i recal is 850rms and the sub barely even moves at all

i set it with a 70hz tone and it hits way harder

so what should i see on the volts for 850rms with a 40hz test tone if its the same then the sub barely moves

Your voltage is right by calculation, but I don't get why at higher bass, especially 70 hz, it's louder to the ear. Maybe your box is too small. What's your set up?

well the box is pretty small no dobut its a prefab box for 2 12's l7's

but its way louder ear and pressure with a 70hz tone than a 40

when i set it with a 40hz my gain is barely tuned up to hit the 29volt mark

with a 70 my gain is up more than a 40hz tone i have it currently set at 29.2volts with vol 38/50 and bass on zero on the HU and its way louder compared to the 40hz tune

next weekend i will have my ported box tuned to 34hz so i should just use 34hz test tone and my ssf should be 34 as well right

SSF_Voltage = 0.707*Sub_Voltage (29.2)= 20.6

20.6 is what you should set your SSF for in your ported box.

I think that sealed box is the problem, but I'm not an expert on everything....

just cause its louder to your ear doesnt mean it has more pressure

well the sub is barely moving with a 40hz test tone and at 29volts i mean you cant even hear it or feel it nothing moves in the truck

setting 70hz with 29volts its different

where did you get the test tones? are the the same db? is there some sort of sub sonic filter on your hu? is there a built in sub sonic filter on your amp?

I usually use either a 50hz or 60hz test tone and I never see a difference using a dmm.

i got the test tones from the amp sticky off realofexcursion

and when i set the gains with a dmm at 70hz to set it at 29volts when i use a 40hz it goes like up to 65volts and i have to turn the gain down and when i use a low tone and set the gains with that on a normal song the sub barely even moves

just get back there and do it by ear, listen to the sub.

Sure you can. If you have a good ear you will hear the pitch change. Just less than that to be safe.
