Setting gain on 2 channel amp with DMM

How exactly do you set the gain with a DMM on a 2 channel amp?

For example, say I am looking to have it output 30.0 Volts. Should I be getting 30V out of each channel or only 15V out of each? I would suppose it would be 15V but I am not positive.

show us the math you used to get to that number

P = V^2 / Z

P = 30^2 / 4

P = 225 W RMS

112.5W RMS x 2?

112.5 = V^2 / 4

V^2 = 112.5 * 4

V^2 = 450

V = SQRT(480) = 21.2 VAC

because voltage is squared, the relationship is not linear and you can't assume that if you need 30VAC for the combined wattage that you need 15VAC for half that power.

Haha okay! I see what you saying. Well my brothers subs can only handle about 300 watts rms and my amp which is a t5002 is rated at 75x2 watts at 4 ohms, 150x2 at 2 ohms, and for later on when I get my subs it can do 250x2 at 2 ohms bridged. It's birthsheet is 1053wrms at 2 ohms bridged.

His speakers are svc 4 ohm. And I am going to try and run about 75x2 @ 4 ohms right now. So I will need 17.3 volts give or take at each channel correct?

Also where is a good place to get a 60hz tone?
