Ok, I Have the Pioneer AVH-P5000 HU, an AQ-2200 amp, and 2 Fi Q 15s that are in a 5.5 cu.ft ported enclosure after all displacement that is tuned to 35 Hz. The HU has a RAC output of 4 Volts so i match that voltage as close as possible (3.9V). I tuned my enclosure to 35Hz so my Subsonic level is set to 30Hz. I know that the gain is the most important setting to any amp, followed by the Subsonic filter if you have a ported enclosure. Now am trying to find out how to set my Bass Boost and Low Pass Filter. I looked through the forum found info on the Gain and Subsonic filter but couldnt find anything on the BB or LPF. Are they just set by ear or do they have parameters. Can you guys help me please or send me to a link with the info.? Thanks in advance.

If you feel the need to crank your bass boost dial, you did something wrong! IMHO most setup anomalies should be addressed by using the appropriate driver or cutting of a particular frequency (or frequencies) via equalization NOT by boosting!

As for your Low Pass filter, that is a matter of personal preference. I know some who are running their subwoofers as low as 30 Hz in 4 way setups and others who run them as high as 120 Hz. Try playing with 80 to 100 Hz and see if that is to your liking.

X2. You should NOT need any bass boost. Run crossover (LPF) up to around 60hz, then adjust it from there. Low setting will get you deeper, but you will lose a lot of the crisp and hard bass notes. I have had mine at about 70hz for the longest time.

OK since you have an aq 2200, use the clipping light on your gain knob to set gain. Your setting your gains on your amp to ~4volts to match the preout voltage of your HU but the only way your getting 4 volts from your head unit is with the volume of your HU all the way up. Your gains need to be turned up a bit and then you will not need bass boost. And set your LPF anywhere between 60-80 should be fine. Just play a song and mess with it in that range till you like the way it sounds. And you could possibly turn your SSF down a tad too as long as your careful
