Setting AQ2200 Gain with DMM ?'s

Ok ive read a shitload of tutorials on this, i have all the knobs on amp to the min, subs unhooked , and settings on HU where i want them, and I have a 50hz tone from Realm of Excursion on cd. Volume at 25/35. I have my DMM set to AC 20 V , and i connect the prongs into the terminals and even with the gain at max ,the highest reading im getting is 8.49 ? What am i doing wrong ?

you're connecting them to the speaker terminals?

try ac ~200v if you have it.

I ran into a similar problem so I returned my DMM and spent $5 more for an auto-ranging DMM. Thing works wonders //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

So at 200v what will it read ? Still 46.9 ?

The aq amps have a clipping indicator on the gain knob //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif. Use that.
