Setting amp settings on Alpine M650???

Ok,

So I've read all the tutorials about setting gains using the sqrt(omh X RMS), but I dont have a voltmeter and I dont want to go buy one. I have an Alpine M650 running at 2 ohms and it is pushing a 10" Alpine Type R wired at 2 ohms. Does anyone either have this setup and want to share their amp settings, or could you guys help me out and give me a vicinity that I should put the settings at? There is a Gain, Bass EQ, and LP Filter setting. Thank you guys.

If you have sub level control on your deck turn that all the way up, put in a pretty bass heavy track, crank your deck to about 75% max volume or the highest level you would ever turn it up to. Then start turning your gain up on the amp untill the sub output JUST starts to strain or distort. Then back down the deck volume a touch and recheck the gain.

I don't know how much headroom you have with that amp, but it is pretty safe to say that less gain is better in the long run.

You should also disconnect the rest of the speakers in your system while doing this.
