If you have sub level control on your deck turn that all the way up, put in a pretty bass heavy track, crank your deck to about 75% max volume or the highest level you would ever turn it up to. Then start turning your gain up on the amp untill the sub output JUST starts to strain or distort. Then back down the deck volume a touch and recheck the gain. I don't know how much headroom you have with that amp, but it is pretty safe to say that less gain is better in the long run. You should also disconnect the rest of the speakers in your system while doing this.
