Ok when i originally set my amp gain i have a line driver(JL AUDIO) hooked to it to help with signal from the HU. since setting my gain i have removed the line driver from my system and to me it doesnt sound as loud. should i reset my gain now that i dont have the line driver hooked up?

its not voltage i know that for sure.

Any time you make a change to the preout voltage you should reset the gains, removing the line driver lowers the preout voltage so the gains will need to be adjusted accordingly.

Ok thanks. I thought it sounded a bit different to me.
