Semi-complicated build; couple of questions.

i just did a build in a truck w/ the ports forward, sounded pretty good. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gifbesides, i doubt hes going for spl w/ 3 re 8's. if he was i'd say subs and port up, subs on pass side port on driver.

i don't know how much room your gonna have between the seat and the box, but if you keep the port low, it'll fire under the seat...

i don't know if you can tell what i did, but thats how i'd do it...

The box is really shallow... not deep at all... are you smoking crack?

to make the design alittle simpler,,,,,why not use an aeroport or 2 on the side of the box? you can always trim them down to get the correct tuning. just a thought....

I thought about it, but can't for several reasons:

a) The dimensions of the side of the box would allow for only one 4" port(because of the flare), which isn't nearly enough port area.

b) Having that aeroport inside the box so close to the walls would kill my airspace and create a pocket of air that the subwoofers couldn't "see". I've had personal experience with this, as has chevyaudio.

Where are the subs going to go? I have an 05 and the bottom depth of that box can't be more than 9" on the outside, which means 7.5" inside with the top before the curve around 5 or so outside which means 3.5 inside. If the port is on the bottom where do the mags go? I had to fire my 9kv.2 s down just to accomodate the size of the speaker. Even still I i had a port it would fire forward.

They'll fit just fine; I've got a mock up all done and they fit with about an inch of clearance //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

its going behind a seat you ***
What the hell does that have to do with ngsm's post?

look over my post one more time and maybe youll understand

basically, njizfag was makin fun of your box because it was really shallow, but the kid doesnt realize it has to be stuffed behind a crew cab seat, therefore, i defended your design
Um, no. He was saying it was very shallow thus a port on the front of the box was impractical.
