Selling the type Rs for RLPs... will i be happy?

so tell me if i were to get these subs can your "magical" tcabs make them look like type Rs are little fairy girls in tights... when all said and done i plan to give these things 1000W ALL DAY... all i want is great Sq and output to outdo the type Rs... im looking for an upgrade here... and feel free to suggest other drivers in the 230-250 dollar range...

the R's really are the pick here... lol.

Your really not going to get louder while maintaining the same level of SQ at this power level. Your gonna pay more to get the same thing/less.

Anything off the top of my head that sounds better, isn't as loud.

RL-p's make a great SQL and SQ driver. Sealed or ported it is a good driver that will work well in both.

As far as SPL both are capable of decent numbers. Mark is obvously a type R junkie so he knows about that sub in his car. I personally have a little experience with each and I believe that 2 12" RL-ps will be more then enough ported in your trunk SPL wise, while maintaining great SQ.

The RL-P's did have the SQ edge, and worked in a smaller box. It was also smoother in the 50hz+ range...although thats not something you should be shootng for with a sub //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i still stand as saying that for a $120 sub, i really can't think of another one that can beat the R...

hey bro, if you GOT the flow, and are willing to spend it, more powa to ya...go for it...you won't be dissappointed with the SQ...output will be similar to the R as well...once again the downside is you paid twice as much...

EDIT: You do realize that a ported box will have a steaper roll off then a sealed box? Just below tuning the ported box hits its F3 much higher then a sealed box.

But it really doesnt matter when you tune in the low 30's...

I know you did...in SPL which isnt what the sub is made for. And to me...listening to you on anything related to sound quality is like listening to good old GWB on anything related to politics.

I never called you a sell out...I just dont enjoy running the same things that everyone else does. I actually like small, customer service oriented company's...SI, SS, Incriminator, and a few others.

I am glad the R works/worked for you. I would love to see you get into another org, other then MECA. Maybe then you could actually have some competition instead of the 12 competitors total that MECA has...

I guess I could say the same about myself...I wish they had DB Drag here.

cuz i already have type Rs.... the point is that i have some cash and wanna make an upgrade here.... i want somthin different with better low end, sq, and ouptut. hell if i got the same output from the rlps that i do on the Rs with better sq ill be happy... and if it makes any difference a orion 2500d is gonna be powering the rlps.

Ultimatly it is YOU that is going to have to make the decision. We can sit here all day long and bicker back and forth as to which is better. You must decide to either buy them or not. Do what you want...hell, if you have the room...dump the 2 12" idea and go for 1 mag 15" sealed. Output would be close, SQ goes to the mag, and low end extention...mag all the way. See, there are multiple choices here...

Make up your mind, write us up a review, and be done with it.

I think there is a definate place for Type R speakers.... I have one, Im not embarrased to say I own one. i think Rl-ps **** in sealed hehe. had one in a 2 cube box aint the low end extension supposed to be better as the box gets bigger?
