sealed vs ported...kindof

assuming same NET power (each system receives the same total power regardless of impedances)

assuming both boxes are built to spec.

i modeled up 3 SE 12s sealed in 3 cubes off 1200 watts and 2 SE 12s ported in 4 cubes tuned to 30hz off 1200 watts, the SEs ported were louder even if you send 1800 watts to the 3 SE 12s sealed

i just ran 3 se ported in 7 cubes..... tuned to 32 hz.... VERY VERY impressive

No one answers this question because if they told you 'yes' or 'no' they'd completely be shitting rainbows.

It's dependant on so many factors... power, source, driver construction, box construction, car, the facing of the subs, etc...

It's like saying, "Will ported sound better than sealed?"

There's no real answer.

it depends on the box sizes too, small sealed get loud too. for the most part sealed vs ported is more of a prefferance. i listen to more than rap and bass tracks so i like sealed. i hate limiting my music selection. i like my classic rock with some punch. most sealed enclosures are not as loud as ported though.

well i told you the power and the subs were the same, obviously this is going into a specific car so that would be the same, i would build the boxes so box construction will also be the same. pointing will be the only variable but lets assume its the same in both cases

Some subs are designed to run in a ported environment (Every DD line isn't supposed to be sealed. It's how they designed their drivers. Go check their website.), and some subs excel in sealed environments.
