Single 10" w6 ported box dimensions????

I want to build the box myself.... anyone know how much much airspace I need for just a 10w6. Or what the dimensions would be? I am running a JL 500/1 to it.

Or if you want a truly flat response out of your subwoofer, WinISD recommends 2.9 cubic feet tuned to 21.63 Hz. I have found that JL Audio's recommendations tend to **** royally, but maybe that is just me...

jls specs kicked *** for me.. and thats ****ing huge.. its like .75 sealed.. 1.3 ported.. i dont remember.. after displacement of course

Honestly...

JL has ridiculous recommended dimensions.

The w0's slot was 1" wide and like 14" high or something... obviously pisses all over the 9:1> ratio I like to keep when I design boxes.

The possibility of port noise with a port smaller than 2" is just great. But it all depends on the driver, I suppose.

the box jl recommended looked good? but i wouldnt know... just sounds like the exact same setup im about to attempt and input would be thumbs up.

The JL recommendations make a couple assumptions that may or may not be valid depending on the user. One assumption is that the system will be used to play music at reasonable volumes. Lower realized power means that you can get away with a much smaller port without having an issue with noise.
