Well i have a 01 alero 4dr so its a bigger car, would a sealed or ported box bring more bass into my ride? i will probably end up taking out the stock 6x9's that are in there and leave them out because people said that would make a port for the bass or something. thanks.

umm so far if everything goes right,

Sub-

POWER ACOUSTIK FUBAR-12W 12 INCH SUBWOOFER 1800 WATTS (800 RMS)

Amp-

POWER ACOUSTIK PS2-1600 CAR AUDIO 2CH AMPLIFIER 1600W (740 RMS)

The Ebay store im buying from doesnt give any specs on what it should be mounted into so i figured i would have to do some digging.

And incase i wanted to make my own box what doe these numbers mean "0.9 @ 35" like on the Box Plans sticky. i think its like cubic feet and hz or sumtin idk

The first number,.9, is the size/volume they recomend for one of those drivers, .9cu. ft. in your case. The other number is refers to what Hz the box is tuned to, in your case 35hz.

As far as wheather to go with ported or sealed. Are you in to QUALITY sounding music or how much boom u can create? To me when I see folks with systems & all they care about is how much bass they can create & thier SPL, well to me that's far from music, just loud noise. That's just my opinion. U have a powerful driver so even if u go with sealed box it's still going to rock your car big time & u will have better sound quality. Keep in mind that if u go ported there are some songs that will not sound that good in ur car cause ported boxs have problems with some frequencies! If loud base is all u want then ported is the way to go!

Either way I will be glad to walk you through the entire process. I have already helped two ther board members build thier first box & the last one was ported & it turned out great. He was a little weary about taking the project on but once he got started he did good! You will need access to a saw though, a table saw is preferable so that u will have all straight cuts.If not u can take the MDF by a local cabinet shop or millwork shop & just pay them a small fee to cut the pieces for u. And if u do it yourself u will save alot of $$$!! Good luch and if u want me to help u just give me a PM, I want charge u anything.

$300 limit... Im 16 so my dad controls my money. And yeah ill probably go for a sealed then, i want the SQ to be good also. That will make building a little easier then to. I think me and my dad could do it, and we have access to any tool needed for something like this, ill talk 2 him about it and see if he can pick up some ?3/4? mdf fiberboard (is 3/4 good?) and then i can follow the plans posted by others and with your help (which i would greatly appreciate) i think it would be fun and work out better. (cheaper 2)
